Closing Time

Please Bench Me is closing down its virtual doors due to a lack of time and resources. I’d like to thank everyone for their participation, discussions, and contribution towards this project.

I started Please Bench Me on my own dime in 2011. I finally built up the courage to go out on my own after five years in IT consulting, leaving a steady paycheck for a year to give the idea a fair chance.

It was my dream to start a company that would help sports fans find the best bar to watch a sporting event. With limited resources and a strong desire to be a full-time entrepreneur, I got a chance to pitch the idea to angel investors and bar owners, worked closely with sports fans to develop the website and mobile app, and of course watched some sports.

After draining my bank account, I’ve returned to the 9 to 5, but in a more enjoyable role developing mobile apps. I don’t regret a second of the experience, and hope that one day I’ll have a chance of doing it all over again.
